Nestled in the breathtaking wilderness of Alaska's Lake Clark region, the Port Alsworth Sourdough Fly-In is an annual celebration of aviation, community, and the timeless allure of Alaskan culture.

Each summer, pilots and enthusiasts from near and far flock to Port Alsworth for this unforgettable event. For over 15 years, attendees have enjoyed a weekend filled with fun, flying and adventure!

But the Port Alsworth Sourdough Fly-In is more than just a gathering—it's a tradition steeped in the rich history of Alaskan aviation and hospitality. From the pancake breakfast to BBQ, every moment is an opportunity to connect, share stories, and forge lifelong friendships.

Hiking
Enjoy the scenery of Lake Clark National Park with breathtaking hikes in the area. Take the easily accessible trails up to Tanalian falls, Lake Kontrashibuna or if you're feeling ambitious, to the summit of Tanalian Mountain. The trail starts at the southeast end of the Wilder runway.
Fishing
Check out some of the world class fishing Lake Clark has to offer. Catch Grayling at the mouth of the Tanalian river, or try for Lake Trout at Kontrashibuna Lake or on the shores of Lake Clark.
Local Activities
Stop by the Cranberry Cache, located on the east end of the Alsworth runway for some souvenirs, coffee, snacks and more! Stop by the National Park Service visitor center to learn more about the history of the area. Enjoy a burger and shake at CK's food truck!

How to Get Here

Port Alsworth is located on the shores of Lake Clark. The most common route taken to Port Alsworth is through the Lake Clark Pass.

Is there airplane parking?

Airplane parking is available at the west end of the Wilder runway (6R-24L). Tie down ropes and blocks are your responsibility to bring.  

What is there to eat?

CK's food truck is open on Saturday from 11-7. They serve burgers, milkshakes, hot dogs and more. They will be closed Sunday.

LPA is hosting a free BBQ dinner at 5pm on Saturday! Feel free to bring a side dish!

All other food must be brought with attendees. No campfires allowed on the runway. Port Alsworth does not have a community dump so please haul out your own trash.

Underwing camping permitted, but no campfires. No public bathrooms available between 9pm-8am.

Is there any information I should know while flight planning?

The standard traffic pattern for the Wilder runway is right traffic for 6R and left traffic for 24L.

CTAF is 122.9 for Lake Clark and Lake Clark Pass.

There are never landing fees for private operators coming to Port Alsworth.

Please keep foot traffic on the south side of Wilder runway!

Can I volunteer?

Yes! We are always looking for volunteers to help out with the fun! Whether it's the 5K race, aviation competitions, BBQ dinner or film festival, feel free to reach out and let us know your availability.
