IMG_5688 2Port Alsworth is the only town in the Lake Clark National Park and Preserve.
It’s a small community of about 225 people. Here’s a few things to do and places to explore.
We recommend you bring a camera, some snacks, layered clothing, and a spot of bug spray.

Visit the Lake Clark National Park and Preserve Headquarters. The Visitors Center is worth a stop and will be open Saturday.
Walk two miles to Tanalian Falls via the trail head at the Southeast end of the Wilder runway.
If you walk past the Tanalian Falls you’ll be at Lake Kontrashabuna. The path continues for another couple miles and sometimes there’s a canoe and paddles near the shore for visitors to use.
For stunning views of the lake, climb Tanalian Mountain! Bring water and an energetic friend. Hike is about 6 hours round trip.
Bring a pole and go fishing. There’s usually something yummy to catch.
